How coaching works

Have you ever received good advice that you were unable to follow? Has your doctor ever recommended a lifestyle change that you found to be unsustainable? Have you ever wanted something in your life, but found you couldn’t achieve it alone?

Health Coaches are knowledgeable advisors who provide ongoing support and guidance as you set goals and make sustainable changes that improve your health and happiness. As your Health Coach, I will listen carefully and help you navigate the world of often contradictory advice to determine what changes are necessary for you.

This is your program and your agenda. You decide what goals you want to achieve. Together we plan for how long it will take to meet your goals and then form the plan to achieve them . We work with you every step of the way to a new and better life.

Who benefits from health coaching?

Our clients range from people who have been diagnosed with a chronic illness, to people who just want to feel and look better. When it’s time for change, Health Coaching can be the right answer.

Many of our clients have been told by health care providers that they need to change their habits but they don’t know how or where to begin. They know they need to make changes, but feel “stuck.”

Gordon will work with you in a Partnership to make lifelong changes that will help you feel better every day. Using proven tools and methods developed by Duke Integrative Medicine, he will guide you through a process to decide what you want and how you’ll get there.

Through our sessions you will be able to:

  • Clarify your health goals and develop a plan to adopt and maintain behaviors, choices and attitudes that will help you achieve optimal health
  • Guide you in your personal care and health-maintenance activities
  • Assist you in reducing the negative impacts of chronic conditions, such as heart disease, arthritis, cancer and diabetes.

Where will we meet?

Our sessions will be conducted primarily by phone. In-person and Skype computer aided sessions also can be arranged. In addition to our sessions, you will be provided work sheets and educational resources to aid in your progress.
